FOI 19122019-1 - Response to reports of illegal fox hunting with hounds by various Northamptonshire Hunts.

Question

Dear Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner,

 

The Hunting Act 2004.

 

1) Please provide details of the approximate number of reports you have received of illegal fox hunting by hounds by the various Hunts operational in Northamptonshire since the fox hunting ban of 2004, by year.

 

2) Please provide the approximate percentage of these reports where officers were dispatched to investigate or these matters were materially investigated.

 

3) Please provide the number of cases resulting in the prosecution of such Hunts and the success rate of such prosecutions.

Answer

Following a search of our paper and electronic records, I have established that the information you requested is not held by the Office of the Northamptonshire Police and Crime Commissioner. However the Office of the Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC) has been contacted a number of times in relation to hunting in Northamptonshire, however I am unable to ascertain from our records whether this was to report illegal fox hunting as the correspondence has been deleted in line with our document retention policy.

 

In addition to this, the OPFCC and Northamptonshire Police are two separate legal entities. Information regarding operational policing matters is the responsibility of Northamptonshire Police, therefore the OPFCC does not hold any of the information you have requested. 4) A copy of any instructions given to staff members to reduce data security breaches, for example double checking work which was written in the last 5 years

5) A copy of any policies implemented in the last 2 years within the organisation to help reduce the environmental impact that the organisation has?

To date, only two Subject Access Requests have been received by the Office of the Northamptonshire Police, Fire and each request was dealt with in line with the Data Protection Act 2018.
